Drink some calming tea, non-caffeinated herbal teas can help you get to sleep faster and stay asleep longer. Look out for blends that include chamomile, passionflower, skullcap, valerian or hops!
Set a “before bed alarm”an hour before your bedtime, this means if you plan on going to bed at 10pm your alarm goes off at 9pm and you’ve got an hour to wind down. Make sure you’re showered, put your phone away (if you can) and relax before you get into bed!!
Meditate. Meditation sets the mood for a good night's sleep and also helps you clear your head of any little worries that might be on your mind so that they don’t keep you up at night. We like to use the Smiling Mind guided meditation app to keep us accountable!
Get ready for the morning! Set your alarm, lay your outfit out for the next day, tidy up if you need to and make sure you’ve got some water and breakfast food on hand for when you wake! This way you can close your eyes without having to worry about rushing around in the AM before your caffeine hit!
